Honest to God you all, the regal Pig Burger is currently my choice for the title of King of Burgers in Nashville. It was smoky, and the combination of ground chuck, brisket, boneless short rib, some of Benton’s Bacon are combined to make the patty and the grilled onions that were on it, ah the layers of flavor just that pushed it right over the edge. It came with some really good fries that were a perfect balance of soft and crispy. I also ordered the sweet corn and poblano pudding, which is creamy, a hint of spice from the poblano peppers and a hint of sweetness from the corn. A nice little layer of crispiness was on top and you broke through that to get into all the delicious creamy corn pudding.

The fried chicken had the right amount of crispiness, was still juicy and not greasy at all. It had so much flavor and the serving was huge. They gave us a breast, a leg and a wing section. It came with green beans that had slices of bacon and bacon fat in them. They were delicious and also had a hint of smoke from the bacon in them. The squash casserole was made with fresh squash bought at the Nashville farmers market just the day before and you could truly taste the flavor and freshness of it. What a difference having fresh ingredients can make. This was absolutely delicious and the third side was white rice with chicken gravy over it. The rice was good but just rice since they forgot the chicken gravy. No big deal but that was the only blunder or lackluster thing about the entire meal.

Outstanding place to get a bite and even though we got it to go, it was a cool atmosphere and everyone was very nice and helpful. They got a sweet tea for each of us to enjoy while we waited and the interior is pretty cool. It’s pretty stark and basic but the art that they do use is nice and easy on the eyes. The thing for me is it is a slight upscale bar-b-que joint so the looks aren’t as important as the food. So don’t worry because it looks really nice but the food speaks for itself and at this point it’s telling me that this place will become a Nashville culinary institution very soon.

So get out there and give them a try. You’ll be happy and will agree that this place is going to quickly become a Nashville culinary legend. Great job and major kudos to everyone involved at Blind Pig.
